Rain, snow, clear, and night — how each weather condition changes ball physics, passing accuracy, aerial balls, and which tactics to use for each condition in eFootball 2026.
Clear, rain, snow, and night — each changes how the game behaves. Here is the complete breakdown.
Standard — no modification to ball weight or roll
Maximum accuracy — ideal conditions
Normal arc and landing prediction
No weather-related tactical adjustment needed
Bright, clear visibility — easiest to track the ball
Heavier ball, faster slide on wet pitch, reduced deceleration
Short passing reliable; long through balls run further than expected
Aerial balls travel further and faster — reduces control on receipt
Favour short combinations; tighten defensive line; avoid long-ball tactics
Rain particles create screen noise; ball contrast is slightly reduced
Slower ball roll with more friction; ball stops more abruptly
Firm passing more effective; soft touch passes lose momentum
Headers drop more steeply; aerial balls easier to control on landing
Short pass tiki-taka styles dominate; long-ball tactics less effective
White pitch reduces ball visibility — hardest conditions for reading play
Same as Clear conditions — no physics difference
No accuracy modifier — equivalent to Clear
Standard trajectory — same as Clear conditions
No tactical requirement — style-neutral
Floodlit stadium; slightly different shadow around ball; adjustment period
Rain is the most common non-clear condition in online matches. These adjustments give you the advantage when it hits.
Ground passes on wet pitch maintain predictability. Long passes slide unpredictably past your forward.
Wet pitch through balls run faster. A deeper line gives you more time to recover before opponents reach goal.
Through balls on wet pitch travel further than the yellow pass indicator suggests. Timing needs adjustment.
Over-running the ball happens more frequently on wet pitch. Controlled running reduces mis-control incidents.
Balance stat affects stability on wet pitch. High-balance players recover from ball contact more smoothly.
Snow is rarer but significantly more disruptive than rain. Players who adapt immediately gain a large advantage.
Snow makes the ball stop more abruptly. Rapid short passes before opponents adjust is the dominant meta in snow.
Aerial balls drop steeply in snow. Direct play loses its effectiveness as the ball sits up for defenders.
Keep the ball on the ground and away from aerial contests where snow conditions reduce your advantage.
White pitch in snow makes the ball genuinely harder to see. Concentrate extra attention on ball position.
Snow increases the chance of stumbles in tackles. High PC defenders win the ball cleanly more often.

Yes. Rain in eFootball has a real and measurable effect on gameplay. The ball becomes heavier and moves faster on a wet pitch, reducing natural deceleration after first touch or long pass. Long aerial balls travel further than expected. The wet surface also increases the chance of mis-control animations triggering for players with lower dribbling stats. Short passing sequences are more reliable in rain than long-range through balls.
Snow is the most disruptive weather condition in eFootball. The white pitch surface makes the ball harder to track visually, passing angles look different, and ball movement is slower with more friction. Players with lower Physical Contact and Balance stats are more likely to stumble in tackles. Tactically, snow strongly favours teams built for short, controlled passing over long-ball or counter-attacking styles.
In online Division Rivals matches, weather conditions are assigned automatically by eFootball — you cannot choose them. In Friend Matches, you can select the weather condition before the game starts. In offline matches vs AI and exhibition matches, you have full weather selection. Some online events specify a fixed weather condition as part of their match settings.
Night matches in eFootball are played under stadium floodlights. The lighting creates slightly different shadow conditions around player feet and the ball. Some players find the ball marginally harder to read during aerial duels in night conditions, but this is primarily a visual adjustment rather than a physical simulation difference. Night does not change ball physics — rain and snow do.
In rain conditions, prioritise: short passing sequences over long through balls (wet pitch causes through balls to run further and faster past forwards), tighter defensive lines to reduce the space wet-pitch through balls can exploit, focus on ground-level combination play through midfield rather than aerial long balls which are harder to control on a wet surface, and reduce sprint use — over-running the ball happens more frequently in rain.
In automatic online matchmaking, each match is assigned weather conditions independently rather than being locked to specific stadiums. Some licensed stadiums have their own characteristic conditions in offline modes (for example, northern European stadiums are more likely to generate snow in winter-season matches in some game modes). In Friend Matches and exhibition matches you can select any weather regardless of stadium.
